“Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail, shall keep the postmen from their appointed rounds.” At least that’s how the saying goes.
But the recent snowstorms that buried much of the Midwest actually kept our postal carrier (a postwoman, if you will) from delivering the mail a couple of days.
It did not, however, keep my office assistants, Luke and Nemo, from wanting to work outside in our front porch office. I love that kind of dedication.
Unfortunately, I do not love the cold weather, and I imagine my laptop doesn’t either.
Maybe if I had the kind of heavy coats my office assistants do, I’d be more able to weather the weather. So, for now, my office assistants have to be content with gazing out the window as I write, although they do frequently ask to go outside, under the pretext that they “just need to run an errand.”
I hope for their sakes, as well as those of everyone who’s had their fill of sleet, snow, hail, and what-have-you this past month, that NOTHING will keep spring from its appointed arrival.
